Compton, Calif., May 19, 2021/PRNewswire/ - Adhering to the reputation of providing unparalleled welding protective equipment for more than 90 years, John Tillman announced the launch of the new 53 MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding gloves.

Through extensive research on the performance needs of welding professionals, Tillman has developed a new MIG glove, Tillman 53 with higher comfort, protection and durability, which is what welders expect from Tillman.

Tillman's 53 MIG gloves start from the high-quality split cowhide on the back of the glove; the palm structure is top-quality cowhide, which is heat-resistant and abrasion-resistant, and can remain soft and flexible even in hot conditions. The glove strengthens the palm and the back of the finger, the thumb strap provides extra strength, and the functionally designed leather break allows unrestricted movement and reduces hand fatigue. “When we shared this glove with welders, we heard two comments: one is that it has a ready-to-wear feeling, and the other is the comfort that the glove provides,” said Robin Whitman, Tillman's marketing manager.

By adding a special GLIDEpatch™, Tillman has done better protection. It is the industry's first 10-mm thick high-density foam cushion, which can wrap half of the forearm to reduce fatigue. GLIDEpatch™ is sewn on the extra-long 5 ½ two-layer leather cuffs to protect most of the entire arm while providing extra cushioning.

"We knew that heat accumulation was a challenge, so we solved this problem with a leather heat shield," Whitman said. The Tillman heat shield is an extra leather strip that extends from the outside of the palm to the tip of the little finger. The side of the hand is likely to be in close contact with the heat source. "In order to meet the welder's dexterity requirements for Tillman gloves, we added breaks at the bending points of the leather fingers so that they can move freely," Whitman said.

Typical Tillman quality, the soft fleece lining provides insulation while being careful not to hinder movement, so it is not bulky. The Keystone thumb design (sewing the fixed thumb into a separate part with reinforced double-row Dupont™ Kevlar® stitches) can hold the welding gun and tools well. Glove sizes are S, M, L, XL, 2X and 3X.

Tillman understands the stringent requirements of welders and they need a glove that can be used all day but still maintains a good fit and long-lasting performance. They asked, we listened. The new Tillman 53 MIG gloves reflect the need for gloves that are versatile enough to enter multiple environments and provide comfort and protection. Tillman's 53 MIG gloves are made for our hard-working hands. We rely on them to build the structures, bridges, ships, buildings, airplanes, etc. we use in every corner of our life and work.
