Madison, Indiana — April 19, 2016 — Chief has expanded its inverter synergistic pulse MIG/MAG welding machine series to include its first three-phase high current model MultiMig 621. MultiMig 621 can be used for welding and brazing aluminum, galvanized sheet, stainless steel and high-strength steel.

“MultiMig 621 is an excellent choice for OEM applications that require a three-phase high-output welding machine, such as when welding certain thick structural aluminum parts,” said Mickey Swartz, director of global product management at the chief parent company Vehicle Service (VSG). ). "It is also an ideal choice for inverter pulse brazing because it can operate at a lower temperature and has better temperature control than traditional welding machines to protect high-strength steel and any galvanized or other anti-corrosion coatings. Material characteristics."

Like all Chief MIG/MAG welding machines, MultiMig 621 uses what Chief said is the synergistic pulse technology required for most OEM aluminum welding. MultiMig 621 has a double pulse function, allowing the weld to cool slightly during low frequency operation. This is an important feature during vertical welding or overhead welding because it reduces the chance of dripping. It can also reduce sheet deformation while providing complete penetration on thicker sheets.

MultiMig 621 is loaded with a large number of collaborative programs, which can preset welding parameters so that technicians can start welding immediately. Multiple programmable options, such as pit filling and hot start, can also be used to customize the operation of the welding machine to meet specific customer needs, working conditions, and technician preferences.

The MultiMig 621 can generate up to 275 amperes of output power, while the Chief MultiMig 511 and 521 welders provide an output power of 200 amperes. Its three-phase power supply provides smoother operation for smoother welding. MultiMig 621 can be equipped with standard MIG torch or Chief's push-pull torch. This lightweight torch has fingertip line speed and current level control, as well as a push-pull system to maintain a constant and uniform tension on the line, minimizing breaks or tangles.

MultiMig 621 supports multiple input line voltages: it can operate at any voltage from 200 to 480 volts. It uses integrated power factor correction (PFC) technology to reduce energy waste. The welder is equipped with a built-in cart, which includes a storage space for gas cylinders.
