Appleton, Wisconsin — August 11, 2015 — Miller Electric has released the newly redesigned MIG and flux-cored-capable Millermatic 211MIG welder, which the company says offers even more convenience, quality and reliability through improved portability, ease-of-use and arc performance.

The new model, which replaces the previous Millermatic 211 Auto-Set with MVP, features improved duty cycle, welds material from 24 gauge to 3/8-inch thick in a single pass and has the highest output in its class.

“This new model continues to deliver class-leading advantages that make it one of the most popular all-in-one MIG welders — and now is easier to use, easier to move and easier than ever to get great welding results,” says Emily Mueller, Product Manager for Miller Electric.

Advanced Auto-Set capabilities allow the user to select from five different wire and gas combinations and .024-inch wire capability. Infinite voltage control provides the flexibility to manually set welding parameters, if desired. The Miller exclusive Multi-Voltage Plug (MVP) allows operators to weld in more places by simply choosing the plug that fits a 120 V or 240 V power receptacle and connecting it to the power cord. No tools are required.

With a new triple-handle design and a nearly 50 percent weight reduction to just 38 pounds, this inverter-based model delivers a lighter, easier to move machine and a faster-reacting arc that Miller Electric says is more forgiving to variations in travel speed and length.

“Normally, I use a three-phase Miller CP-200 and wouldn’t give it up — until I tried this new Millermatic 211. It’s got an incredibly smooth arc,” says Billy Simpson, Chassis Fabricator at Hendrick Motorsports. “Basically, I like everything about it.”

Ease-of-use is enhanced further through other innovative features. A new angled aluminum wire drive uses an updated motor in an all-aluminum housing to support longer torch options and deliver smoother wire feeding for better welds. The Quick Select drive roll offers three grooves — two for different size solid wire and a third for flux-cored wire. In addition, Auto Spool Gun Detect automatically detects when a Miller Spoolmate 100 or new Spoolmate 150 is connected, eliminating the need to install a spoolgun switch.

The system’s Fan-On-Demand cooling system operates only when needed, reducing noise, energy use and amount of contaminants pulled through the machine.
